Here I Sit A-wondering

Here I sit a wondering
what will I do today
Being retired ain't easy
and it's not a life of play

Had my daily coffee
spanned my old PC
Watched a couple TV shows
What else is there for me

Already did the dishes
My wash is dried and hung
The songs that I remember
Heck - they've all been sung

Could get in the auto
and take a spin somewhere
All my friends are working
I've no one left to share

Retirement - what's so special
waited a lifetime for this
Sitting around doing nothing
or Playing with a satalite dish

Just don't pay to retire
a lonely life - no fun
Tried to have me a party
Impossible - a party for "one"

Gotta get me back to work
Back to the good old days
Back to a hefty schedule
Those "non-retirement" ways

Just don't like the lonely life
Wondering - what is it I will do
Gotta Set the quiet alarm
and start my days "a-new"

Open The Eyes Of My Heart Lord

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
Help the blindness fade away,
Give sight to my yearning heart,
Grant vision with wisdom this day.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
So that I may better behold,
The mighty blessings You give,
Washing my sins, making me whole.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
Let nothing obscure the view,
Dimming the Glorious light of love
As I reach closer, my goal of You.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
Like unto the flowers facing the sun,
I bare my heart and soul to You,
My precious King, My Holy One.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
That I walk clearly and not stumble,
Upon my walk to Heaven's Portal,
Lord, help me always to be humble.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
Giving focus day after day,
Bring clarity to thought and action,
Open the eyes of my heart I pray.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
Brighter vision forming in sight,
Glowing in Heavenly style,
Yes Lord, as I walk in Your light.

Open the eyes of my heart Lord,
That always I will be able to see,
All that is asked of me sweet Jesus,
Giving evidence of my love for Thee.

A Bridge Of Love

Tell me do you know He Who calls you,
He Who has Refreshing Love,
With Living Waters to wash you as,
White as the Light from Above?

Watch the sunset fire up all aglow,
Warming even through the trees,
So you'll feel the Touch of Jesus' Love,
Like one sweet breath in a breeze.

Do you ever think when you're walking,
To Thank Jesus for beauty,
When He's right there in your midst with your,
Name on His Lips for Glory?

There's A Bridge Of Love beckoning you,
To only reach out and touch,
Feeling His Love He gave for you long,
Ago 'cause He loves that much.

Do you know He is all powerful,
With sweetness with Love that gives,
That He has been calling you by name,
To have Salvation that Lives?

He's the Rose of Love in Majesty,
Being King and Savior too,
While the Holy Spirit stirs within,
Your heart tugging you on through.

Are His angels dwelling around you,
Have you ever noticed Light,
Shimmering brighter with a glowing,
Smelling a sweet scent at night?

I'd say you may as well walk The Bridge
Of Love soon for it is He,
Calling you to Believe in Him so,
You'll live in Eternity.

Will you draw closer to He Who loves,
Releasing your lonely soul,
Accepting Jesus in your heart now,
To be saved and then made whole?

Just walk one step at a time to He,
Who has Sweet Refreshing Love,
And Living Waters to wash you as,
Bright as God's Son from Above.

The Saviour is waiting for you with,
Love and Salvation that lives,
Won't you please let Him in your heart for,
He's Love that always forgives?

An Autumn Gift

An autumn leaf caressed my face
Then slowly drifted down,
To join a perfect tapestry
Of russet, gold and brown.

Hedges are bright with berries;
Virginia creepers' turning red:
I reflect on the passing seasons
For it's time to look ahead.

The summer has long since passed
And winters on the way,
But there is beauty all around
On this mellow autumnal day.

This day has made me realise
God's blessings all come free;
And He gave me a wonderful gift,
~The ability to see.~

Angel's Will Lead Me

Lord it's not far down the track now,
where my train of life soon ends.
Angel's will lead me then to Jesus,
He'll be there with all my friends.

Then we'll throw a Heavenly party,
God in heaven will be our host.
There we all will be worshiping our Lord,
the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Our Parents taught us kids of Jesus,
early in life they set the stage.
Taught us of how He died to save us,
dying at such a very early age.

There'll be so many things to talk about,
so many beautiful sites to see.
Jesus and I going down the Golden path,
taking me around heaven to my Family.

There'll be so many tears of happiness,
Earth will be having another Rain.
Then when all things get back to normal,
the sun on Earth will shine again.

That Train was rough but a beautiful trip,
believe me right up to the very end.
Worse part leaving my Children behind,
yet I'll be waiting for them to arrive
when it's their time.

Your Best Friend

When you've lost everything
that your whole life you did win,
And there's no way you
can begin to pick up again;

There's only one way
to take control of your life
And be victorious
over all of the strife.

Give your heart to Jesus.
Just give your whole life to Him.
All He ever wanted
was to be your best friend.

Look At God's World

Look up toward Heaven then,
Look around and you will see,
The beauty that God created,
For you and for me.

There is no doubt that this is God's world,
See the beautiful flowers and birds,
The animals and the trees,
He made them all for you and me.

But the best creation of all is,
The Baby Boy lying in a manger,
He was sent to save the world,
God gave His all for you and me!

How could you not believe?
Jesus is Lord of all,
He is the beginning and the end,
He was sent to set us free,
On an old rugged cross at Calvary!

(JOHN 3:16 KJV)
For God so loved the world, that
He gave His only begotten Son
that whosoever believeth in Him
should not perish but have
everlasting life.

Our Gifts Of Love

Each time I see a butterfly
Or a redbird in a tree,
They remind me of the Lord above
And nature's gifts He's given me.

The beautiful lakes and mountains
The oceans and the seas,
All gifts we take for granted,
To do with as we please.

Just look around at this great big world
At the beauty God displays,
The Master Painter of the universe,
Always takes my breath away.

The earth is His big canvas
As he paints the morning sun,
And when night time falls, He paints the moon,
When each new day is done.

Thank you Lord for painting
Nature's beautiful sights for me,
Your paintings are a gift of love,
For the whole wide world to see.
